  • Buffett Score April 2023 Update

Spring is here, and that means allergy season. But, on a positive note, it’s the first trading day of the month, and I’ve got some exciting Buffett Score updates to share.

We had four companies leaving the list, and a whopping 8(!) entering having attained that perfect Buffett Score. Let’s get those leaving the list out of the way first.

Leaving

One of the names leaving the list is USANA Health Services (USNA). Those following the Buffett Score might remember that this stock entered the list last month, but I called out it would leave almost immediately due to how “Consistent Earnings” is calculated. Well, away it goes.

The updates to Consistent Earnings have still not been implemented as most of my time has been spent on (Checklist Invest)[https://checklistinvest.com], but I will get around to some slight modifications and testing soon.

Alright, the other three leaving the list are:

  • Cisco (CSCO)
  • Marine Petroleum Trust (MARPS)
  • Mastercraft Boat Holdings (MCFT)

All three of these stocks are leaving the list due to a reduction in cash flows when compared to assets.

NEW

Now for the good stuff! New Buffett Score stocks are here. Remember, these stocks meet all eight of the following criteria:

  1. Consistent Earnings
  2. Manageable Debt
  3. High ROIC
  4. High ROE
  5. FCF Positive
  6. Reduction of Shares Outstanding
  7. Earnings Yield > 10yr Treasury
  8. Outsized Cash Flows

You can get a more detailed rundown of the rules at (BuffettScore.com/about)[https://buffettscore.com/about].

Here are the companies that freshly met the criteria this month:

  • Expeditors International Of Washington (EXPD)
  • Fastenal (FAST)
  • Home Depot (HD)
  • Marine Products (MPX)
  • Medpace Holdings (MEDP)
  • Power Integrations (POWI)
  • Ulta Beauty (ULTA)
  • Waters Corp (WAT)

New This Month

Over on Checklist Invest you can now get a trial without a credit card. Features and enhancements continue to be added there every day and I’d love to hear from users what they’d like to see added first.

I’ve also started tracking actual portfolios that will be updated and tracked on a recurring basis. (The Buffett Score portfolio can be seen here on Checklist Invest)[https://www.checklistinvest.com/guru-portfolios/buffett-score]. This portfolio will always be available to view without an account, but a word of warning that the rebalancing period is a bit different than these updates.
